Baltimore County Rental Inspections
Baltimore County Maryland rental property owners are required to have
rental inspections completed by Licensed Maryland Home
Inspector in cojunction with the registration of their property.
Subsequent rental inspections must also be completed every
three years.

As of January 1, 2008 all Maryland Home Inspectors must be
licensed
through Maryland Department of Labor & Licensing.

What is done during a Baltimore County Rental Inspection?
Compliance with the Balimore County Rental Registration program
requires inspection of the following:
Carbon
Monoxide Detectors
FAQ
Smoke
Detectors
Electrical System
Plumbing
Windows
Proper
Ventilation of Combustion Appliances
Secondary
Means of Escape from Sleeping Areas
No
Exterior Safety Hazards
Upon
completion of the inspection the owner is to be provided with Baltimore
County Rental License Inspection Sheet, along with time and date
stamped photos of the front and back of the property including yard
areas taken by the Licensed Home Inspector.

Lead Inspections
As part of the Rental Registration process, a Lead Inspection must also
be obtained if applicable to the subject property. If the
property was built before January 1, 1950, a Lead Inspection is
required. If the propery was built after this date, but
before January 1, 1978, it is suggested that the property be inspected
for lead also. We are licensed by the Maryland Departement of
the Environment to conduct the
Lead Inspection.
This is a separate inspection and not included as part of the
Rental Inspection. Please note that if the property is
subject
to Lead Inspections, this inspection must be performed at each rental
turnover.
